My Children Are My Art!

Someone told me that once that when you have children, you'll never need to buy art again. Well, isn't that the truth!  You might have to spend a little on framing and maybe a photographer if that's not your forte, but I can tell you as a designer and a mom that it is totally worth it. Between the artwork that your children create at school and playful photographs of them, you can fill up your heart and your walls with original pieces of art. I try to make the photo shoots fun with great locations, lots of props, costume changes, and candy for bribing. We have such a good time, and I always love the artsy playful shots that we end up catching. Once I get the images back, I can spend hours looking at  them, trying to select the ones I am going to frame. Blow up your favorites large!  They make such a statement, and fill up lots of empty wall space. What is more meaningful than being surrounded by these images of the little ones you love so much. 

Now, if you want to  make your kiddies really proud, find great places to hang the art pieces they make themselves. We hang all of our children's paintings and drawings, and they love that we are so interested in what they are making. I just hope they always want to create for me and for themselves. And I will keep looking for great locations and silly props for their next photo shoot. Yes, I believe their lives will be totally documented in pictures..... at least their mommy is planning on it being that way!
