Beautiful South is taking its already vibrant menu and introducing an exciting new element: all-day dim sum brunches on Sunday, starting October 6. While the restaurant already boasts a diverse menu full of bold flavors—a few standouts include Cantonese whole roast duck, General Tso's Chicken, and Spicy Hong Kong Noodles, alongside many takeout-style comfort classics—the addition of dim sum is set to up the ante on the weekend dining experience.
Chef/Owner David Schuttenberg and Co-Owner Tina Heath-Schuttenberg are bringing an old-school, New York City Chinatown-inspired vibe, blending traditional favorites with inventive Charleston twists.
The Sunday menu features an array of dim sum classics like Steamed Dumplings, fluffy Baos, Turnip Cakes, Scallion Pancakes and Hong Kong-style French Toast. It’s a bold, flavorful spin on tradition that promises to make Sundays at Beautiful South a must.
Taking cues from classic Chinatown dim sum parlors, the dining experience is casual and fun. Expect to order on a paper menu, check off what you want and enjoy your dishes served family-style in a lively, communal setting. It’s laid-back, flavorful and makes Sunday brunch a lot more interesting.
Dim sum is Cantonese for "touch the heart," which is precisely what the Beautiful South team aims to do with the culinary art form.
